Author, pundit Christopher Hitchens dies at 62
Fri Dec 16, 2011
The most telling thing about Hitchens in this instance is, I think this is the most intelligent reader discussion I've ever seen on this site. Even when I disagreed with Hitchens's arguments, they made sense. It just came down to a difference in personal convictions.
House reaffirms 'In God We Trust' as US motto
Wed Nov 2, 2011
I cross through "god" on my bills before I spend them and write "liberty" instead. Well aren't you just a little rebel defacing currency like that...
Familiar refrain: Wall Street protest lacks leaders, clear message
Tue Sep 27, 2011
I've been looking for coverage of this story on MSNBC. It's clear most mainstream news outlets are either ignoring or burying the story.
Expert: Don't call alcoholism a 'disease'
Fri Sep 23, 2011
I don’t think this guy’s paper is worth much except as an intellectual and/or rhetorical exercise. As far as I know, the common cold is a disease.

Thu Sep 1, 2011
Do you really think the Monsanto Corporation is not completely prepared for all this? They're just waiting for optimal market conditions to introduce Roundup-Ready Roundup, followed immediately by Roundup-Ready Roundup-Ready corn and soybeans.
How do you feel about a new 'Blade Runner' movie?
Thu Aug 18, 2011
I saw Blade Runner in my local theatre when it first came out (and tanked). I immediately fell in love with the film. I still watch it periodically, and it evokes the same awe and longing it did for me the first time. It’s really become a special little part of my life.
Is Newsweek's Michele Bachmann cover appropriate?
Tue Aug 9, 2011
The only way to make it more appropriate would be to have the words GUNS AND BABIES AND GOD AND WAR in blood-red on the blue background.
'Handcuffed by policy': Fire crews watch man die
Wed Jun 1, 2011
I think someone should have rowed out to him and asked him whether he was trying to commit suicide. If he says Yes, then it's OK to let him drown and not bother getting your socks wet...
Cop's rape comment sparks wave of 'SlutWalks'
Fri May 6, 2011
Cerebrally Supercilius: First, let's look past your parochial attempt to insult...it is not necessary to reveal your cad-like tendencies. Wow. All I can deduce from this is that you run a comic-book shop.
